The city of Arusha is located 45km from Kilimanjaro International Airport and at the foot of Mount Meru, the second highest peak in the country. The city is located at an altitude of 1540m and its surroundings consist of large fields of coffee, wheat and corn. Arusha is a typical Tanzanian city: the market where locals flock to buy fruits and vegetables, the artisans who work on the side of the road, and the small street stalls to buy a piece of meat or fabric.

Day 2. Arusha - Tarangire Park - Karatu 150 km
Breakfast
Today you will participate in your first day of Safari in a private Jeep with an open roof in the company of your French-speaking guide.
Typically, safaris start at 6:00 a.m. to give you the best chance of seeing animals on the move before the sun fully rises and the heat of the day pushes them into the shade. This is a great opportunity to see elephants drinking in the morning or a hippopotamus returning to the pond. Our tours will take you up close to some of the world's most magnificent animals, so you can experience a truly African adventure. In addition, we strive to improve your knowledge of wildlife and their habitats. Our guides will be happy to provide you with information.
After breakfast, you will depart for Tarangire National Park. Covering an area of 2,850 km2, Tarangire National Park is the ideal park for small group safaris in Tanzania. Indeed, thanks to the Tarangire River which winds through its middle, the animals find water all year round. The presence of the river explains the great variety of animal species that live there (oryx, hartebeest, eland, giraffe gazelle, leopard, buffalo, lion, etc.), in almost as many numbers as in the Serengeti during the great migration.
Tarangire National Park is considered one of the best places in East Africa to observe elephants up close. You will also have the chance to see beautiful Maasai giraffes, various gazelles and antelopes, buffaloes, wildebeests, lions, leopards, baboons and more than a hundred species of birds.
Tarangire also offers very different landscapes despite its relatively small size. This makes it a favorite park for safari enthusiasts in Tanzania. The majestic baobabs, kingdom of the Tarangire pythons, alternate with palm trees and acacias where leopards often laze around.

Karatu is a lively and colorful town not far from the Ngorongoro Highlands. The main street is wide and always bustling with people in brightly colored clothes chatting and going about their daily business. It is also the meeting point for the Maasai for the market with large herds of cows and goats. There are stalls selling everything from spices to pots and pans, etc., and in the centre there is a lively fruit and vegetable market. The surrounding mountains are covered with thick forests and cultivated areas (coffee plantations) with villages scattered in between.
Day 3 : Kataru - Safari in Manyara
Breakfast
Departure for Lake Manyara National Park.

Located west of Arusha, Lake Manyara National Park owes its name to the lake that occupies two-thirds of its surface area. This "small" park of 330 km2 stretches over 50 kilometers at the foot of 600 meter high red-brown cliffs characteristic of the Rift Valley escarpment.
The circuit that crosses Lake Manyara Park allows you to discover a microcosm representative of Tanzania. The road winds along a long strip of land wedged between lake and cliff. It crosses a lush jungle where you come across numerous baboons, gazelles, and elephants.
The plain that then extends is bordered by Lake Manyara, a vast expanse of alkaline water with shades of blue and white. Giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and huge herds of buffalo gather on this grassy land. A small belt of acacia woods serves as a refuge for the legendary lions of Manyara, often perched on the branches of the trees.
Like most other Rift Valley lakes, Manyara is shallow and varies greatly in size depending on the season. Many animals come to bathe in the mud when the water recedes.. It is possible to observe many aquatic birds such as pelicans, flamingos, cormorants and herons.

Ngorongoro Crater
Formed three million years ago when a giant volcano erupted and collapsed, the Ngorongoro Crater floor covers an area of 260 km2 and is home to some of the largest concentrations of wildlife in eastern Africa. Its maximum diameter is 22.5 kilometers and its depth is 610 meters. The Ngorongoro Crater constitutes an important wildlife reserve included in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area which borders the Serengeti located to the northwest. This conservation area is a major tourist attraction in Tanzania.
In the interests of nature preservation, the area inside the crater has been declared non-constructible and it is not permitted to graze herds there, although they may drink there during transit.
Four hundred species of birds inhabit the crater. Among them are the flamingos that come to rest on Lake Makat, always during the waxing moon. This lake is formed by rains pouring sometimes large masses of water into the flat-bottomed crater basin. We then see the hippos basking there while the buffaloes wallow in the mud. Ngoitokitok Spring and Munge River, which are the main source of water from the crater and filling the nearby lakes, are Tanzania's most famous picnic spots teeming with hippos, lions and elephants.

Serengeti National Park is an iconic eco-region in Tanzania, renowned for observing The Great Migration. It is part of the Serengeti ecosystem, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa and one of the Ten Natural Wonders of the World. Serengeti, which translates into English as "Endless Plains," is a Maasai word that translates to "Endless Plains.".
According to them, the land is eternal and this area never seems to end. Great migrations move from the north through the park in search of new pastures to the southern plains, then venture into Kenya.
The vast Serengeti National Park, its pastures and rivers like the Mara and Grumeti are a perfect home for wildebeests who spend nearly six to seven months in this park. Apart from this, the Big Five can be easily spotted here along with cheetahs, hyenas, monkeys and porcupines.

Zanzibar is not known as the Spice Island by chance. The island, in addition to its many natural and cultural attractions, is also one of the largest exporters of spices in the world.
The spice trade in Zanzibar played a fundamental role in the development of the island from the beginning of maritime trade. It was this development that contributed to the expansion of the Muslim religion.

For years, the island derived the majority of its income from this trade. As proof, the very name
"Zanzibar," which means "the coast of the Blacks," shares the same roots as the word "ginger."!
Until the middle of the 20th century, Zanzibar was still one of the only and main producers of cloves. For centuries, the island imported slaves from all over Africa, leading to overproduction and then a fall in the price of cloves. Between 1980 and 1990, Zanzibar gradually supplemented its clove-based economy with a tourist economy. The island has managed to perpetuate its traditions and continues to produce cloves (of which it is the largest exporter), but also ginger, nutmeg and turmeric.
Day 9. Zanzibar East Coast Jambiani
Breakfast
From 8 a.m. visit of Stone Town (2 hours) and Prison Island
The historic district of Stone Town is the true soul of Zanzibar. In the labyrinth of Stone Town's alleys, you pass from Bantu Africa to Persia, you observe a Hindu temple wedged between a mosque and two Anglican or Catholic churches, you raid a spice shop or admire the old wooden doors.
You will also pass by the house where Freddie Mercury, the famous singer of Queen lived.

Prison Island
The island is approximately 800 m long and 230 m wide. The British Prime Minister of Zanzibar, Lloyd Mathews, purchased the island in 1893 to build a prison complex, which was ultimately never used as such.
You will have the opportunity to dive in crystal clear water and observe colorful tropical fish and corals. The island is also home to peacocks and a family of giant Seychelles tortoises.
Lunch on the terrace of the colonial hotel Tembo with a magnificent view of the sea. Departure for the Fun Beach Hotel (1h15)
This late afternoon is entirely at your disposal. Relax on the white sand beach while enjoying the wonderful scenery offered by the Indian Ocean. The crystal clear sea water is at a stable temperature throughout the year, between 25°C and 27°C. Fringed by powdery white sand beaches, azure blue water and coral reefs, Zanzibar is one of the world's most idyllic tropical destinations.
