11 DAY THAILAND TOUR PROGRAM

    DAY 1:  ARRIVAL IN BANGKOK

     

    Arrival in Bangkok at ... on flight ...

    You will then be greeted by your guide and driver outside the airport,

     

    Stroll through the flower market. This incredible market is the main wholesale market for flowers of all kinds. It is open 24 hours a day.

     

    Visit of the Royal Palace. You will discover the Wat Phra Keo which covers approximately 220 hectares of downtown Bangkok and will give you a glimpse of Thai architectural art, the orange and green tiles of the multi-sided roofs, the chedis covered with shimmering gold leaf, the pillars encrusted with multicolored mosaics contribute to the magic of the place.

     

    Then you can admire the Emerald Buddha, One of the most venerated statues in all of Thailand, its origin and sculptor are unknown, it appeared in the 15th century..

     

    Lunch at the restaurant.

     

    Visit of the Wat Arun, Temple of Dawn, symbol of the capital, named after the Indian god of dawn: Aruna. The Prang (Khmer-style tower), 82 meters high, was built during the first half of the 19th century by Rama II and Rama III.

     

     

    After that, you will sail in Asia's "Venice of the East" aboard a longtail boat. Venture along the waterways and canals and discover the fascinating lifestyle of the neighborhood where life is simple and more relaxed with their authentic Thai waterfront houses and spiritual houses.

    DAY 2: BANGKOK – DAMNOEN SADUAK – KANCHANABURI

     

    Breakfast at the hotel.

     

    Early morning departure for the visit of the floating market (Talàat Naam) of Damnoen Saduak, (80 km, about 1.5 hours drive) in Ratchaburi province; stop at an artisanal coconut sugar factory;

    Before arriving at the floating market, take a motorized canoe for the last few hundred meters, then stroll along the fruit, vegetable, fish, and meat stalls.

     

     

    Lunch at a local restaurant.

     

    Return to Bangkok.

    DAY 3: BANGKOK – AYUTTHAYA – PHITSANULOK

     

    After breakfast,

     

    Departure for Ayutthaya, Ancient capital of the Kingdom of Siam. The city was founded in 1350 by Ramathibodi I and became the capital of his kingdom. Its ruins have been transformed into a historical park, and the new city was rebuilt a few kilometers further east. This archaeological park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, presents a collection of remains characterized by its prangs (reliquary towers) and its gigantic Buddhist monasteries, which give an idea of the grandeur of the ancient capital and the splendor of its architecture.

    Continue by road to Phitsanulok, passing through Chainat. Stop to visit the Crystal Temple, Wat Tha Sung. This small temple, long forgotten on the banks of Sakae Krang, experienced a real boom under the influence of the monk Luang Pho Ruesi Ling Dam. Today, this complex with its unique architecture includes many buildings, including a large meditation park bordered by a surrounding wall of hundreds of Buddha statues, the Prasat Thong Kham nicknamed "the golden pyramid" and its famous glass chapel Viharn Kaeow.

    DAY 4: PHITSANULOK – SUKHOTHAI – CHIANG RAI

     

    Breakfast at the hotel.

     

    Departure by road for Sukhothai, The first capital of Siam, founded in 1238 and ending the Khmer reign of Angkor Wat. Sukhothai was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1991. It is more famous for its art than for its political achievements. Visit the historical park and its superb temples.

     

     

    Lunch at the local restaurant.


    Departure for Chiang Rai via Lampang. Stop and visit of a pineapple plantation (depending on the season and the harvest).

     

    Chiang Rai, « The City of Kings, is a small town with a population of 65,000. The city was founded by King Mengrai in 1262 and became the first capital of the Lannathai Kingdom, but soon after lost this status to Chiang Mai. In 1432, the Emerald Buddha, the most important Buddha image venerated in Thailand, was discovered in Chiang Rai and then transported to Bangkok in the Royal Palace..

    DAY 5: CHIANG RAI – GOLDEN TRIANGLE – CHIANG RAI

     

    After breakfast,

     

    “Golden Triangle” Day

    Excursion in a motorized canoe "Hang Yao" on the Kok River, stop in a village and visit a Tibeto-Burmese tribe.

     

    Lunch at a local restaurant.

     

    Chiang Saen is the geographical meeting point of the three borders of Myanmar (Burma), Laos and Thailand, made famous by its opium traffickers, its lush vegetation, and its different ethnic groups. ....

     

     

    Visit of the small Opium Museum.

     

    Return to Chiang Rai.

    DAY 6: CHIANG RAI – CHIANG MAI

     

    After breakfast at the hotel,

     

    Wat Rong Khun, better known as “ white temple ” is one of the most recognizable temples in Thailand. Located 13 km outside of Chiang Rai city, it is often the primary reason for tourists to come to the area and attracts a large number of visitors, both Thai and foreign. It is a dazzling white building, a magical place surrounded by works of art in a fairytale landscape..

     

     

    Winding road to Chiang Mai, with a stop at the hot spring, geological curiosity;

     

    Lunch at a local restaurant.

     

    Arrival in Chiang Mai, check-in at the hotel.

    DAY 7: CHIANG MAI

     

    Breakfast at the hotel.

     

    Morning devoted to visiting a elephant camp in the heart of nature where you will witness an amazing spectacle of these elephants and their bath in the river.

     

     

     

     

    Then, visit of a orchid greenhouse.

                                                                                                      

    Picnic lunch

     

    At the end of the afternoon, transfer by Tuk-Tuk to the Kantoke dinner, Followed by a performance of mountain dances and songs.

    DAY 8: CHIANG MAI

     

    Breakfast at the hotel.

    Early morning departure by pick-up for the Charoen Market, according to the chef's advice, where you will buy the ingredients necessary to prepare the dishes that you will cook and taste for your lunch.

     

    Possibility of cycling in the village.

    DAY 9: CHIANG MAI – BANGKOK

     

    After breakfast,

     

    Visit the famous temple of Doi Suthep, nestled at an altitude of 1000 meters, at the top of a hill to which one has climbed 300 steps framed by 2 giant porcelain snakes. From the summit, you enjoy a view of the plain and the city that is quite magnificent. It is reached by pick-up to the foot of the Temple, then climb the 300 steps to access the Temple grounds, (possibility of making an offering).

     

    Lunch at a local restaurant.

     

    Mid-afternoon, transfer to Chiang Mai train station.

    Settle into the air-conditioned 2nd-class sleeper train.

    DAY 10: ARRIVAL IN BANGKOK, FREE DAY

     

    Arrival in Bangkok in the morning

     

    Transfer to the hotel (room available at 2:00 PM) for luggage drop-off

    DAY 11: BANGKOK – RETURN
